Designstudio Projekt 2020. Hanni is a commuter bike that is tailored to the needs of the students and staff of the New Design University. It is designed for a distance of 5 to 7 kilometers (approximately the distance between the NDU and the train station in St Pölten). The bike is equipped with 2 luggage racks and is therefore ideal for transporting small luggage. Hanni is very low maintenance due to its single speed drive. The frame of Hanni is a so called mixed frame. It offers a comfortable low profile frame and at the same time high stability. The frame is powder coated and is therefore particularly weatherproof. Hanni consists of both used and new components. This is an important contribution to climate friendly and waste avoiding solutions. The aim of the project was to find out if it is possible to build a commuter bike for a cost of maximum €150. Pictures are by Nikolaus Korab
